Commission on the Status of Women
Commission on the Status of Women
Topic: Indigenous Women’s Rights
Whether it’s the issue of sexual violence in the workplace, lack of representation in media or the ongoing crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, women around the world face unique struggles that have too often been ignored or dismissed. The Commission on the Status of Women, a branch of the United Nations in power since 1946, is committed to empowering women and promoting gender equality.
In this committee, delegates will focus on the challenges facing Indigenous women around the world and women in the workplace. Delegates will be challenged with the task of creating meaningful and practical solutions to issues faced by women worldwide, while taking into consideration the intersections and complexities of race, age or geographical location. We look forward to working with you to create a better world for all.
