Letter from the Secretary General

Welcome to CAPMUN 2026!

My name is Olivia Grado, and it’s my honour to serve as Secretary General and lead our amazing Secretariat for this year’s conference. We are working tirelessly to prepare a CAPMUN like no other. Why? Because we believe in this conference’s ability to empower and challenge youth to become the incoming leaders, diplomats, activists, and innovators.

Being involved in CAPMUN throughout university has, without a doubt, shaped the leader and person I have become. CAPMUN has a unique ability to foster ambition, confidence, problem-solving, and critical thinking, bringing out the best in all of us. By connecting like-minded students, you not only build friendships, but you grow and become more confident, informed, and empowered leaders ready to face any challenge head on.

Moreover, whether this is your first or fourth conference, we will be there to support you every step of the way. I have absolutely been that nervous delegate who took a big leap of faith in signing up, and wasn’t quite sure what to expect. If this is you, I am so glad you took that leap, and we will be right there with you. Nevertheless, if you are an experienced delegate, you can definitely expect to be challenged and pushed in our advanced committees led by our passionate staff with years of experience.

All this to say, we cannot wait to welcome you all in March. Every year I am amazed by the passion, skill, public speaking, and knowledge of the students who walk in our doors. I have no doubt in my mind that I will read about all the amazing things you all do one day, and we are so grateful to be a part of your journey. So, get ready, sharpen your debate skills, and we will see you all soon.
